No one views Thramsay romantically, most of the fics are about Ramsay abusing Theon (although there are some where Theon likes it). On Ao3 they like to say "Ramsay is his own warning".

Ah. Well, then I'm not sure why they get so much hate. I thought that that might have been a possibility.

A lot of people just assume that the fans think the situation is romantic or that Ramsay is a nice person, which couldn't be farther from the truth. (Meanwhile these same people have no problem romanticizing Cersei)
