I love him overall, but he IS pretty hit or miss with me. My intro was Sandman & it's still my #1 Gaiman. I love American Gods, but I think I love the IDEA more than the execution of the idea.

A lot of people here are saying he's better in small doses & I'm inclined to agree. I love a lot of his short stories - Fragile Things is a (mostly) amazing collection. And his YA novels are mostly As for me (I did really enjoy Coraline & Graveyard Book, but I *LOVED* Odd & the Frost Giants).

I think movie!Stardust is better than the book, too.
