Gundam Wing turns twenty years old next April. Yeah, I know how you feel.

(Anonymous) 2014-09-13 08:17 pm (UTC)(link)
That's older than some people on this community!

Jeez.

...don't say that, that's terrible. I now have this morbid curiosity to check when other stuff that I liked in the same era came out:
Fushigi Yuugi also turns 20 next year, Tokyo Babylon started publishing 24 years ago, Yami no Matsuei and Weiss Kreuz turned respectively 18 and 17 this year.

ouch.

Also, to put things in perspective: do you know what big thing came out "over 10 years ago"? Fullmetal Alchemist, that's what.

Oh, I'm doing the same. Yu Yu Hakusho is almost twenty four years old, apparently.

Speaking of Weiss Kreuz and Koyasu vanity projects, I'm sad that we never git that Velvet Underworld anime.

I knew YYH was pretty old (it's one of the first manga I liked) and so is Evangelion, so it wasn't too much of a surprise.

I kinda broke it off with Weiss Kreuz after the redesign so I have no idea about any subsequent projects. On the other hand, I still keep an eye out for any seiyuu I still know from back then!

It isn't Weiss Kreuz related as far as I can tell. It was a series of drama series about an assassin character codenamed AYA iirc. It has a lot of animated music videos and the characters seem pretty interesting. Shame there was never a proper anime.

Me too! I mostly keep up with Ai Orikasa and Megumi Ogata.

I've been a fan of Ai Orikasa since Tenchi, which is now... 22 years old. Brilliant. -.-

Same! She was absolutely fantastic as Ryoko!

The Zelda series is closing in on thirty years old. (It'll be 29 years old next February.)

This seems like a day for being confronted by my age (lots of little reminders that the things I liked as a kid are ancient now).

Haha, sorry. I'm reminded of that daily since most of my fandoms are a bit old. Most of them are mentioned in this very thread, lol. So I know how you and OP feel all time well, espe ially with regards to anime fandom.
