i was too young to appreciate them when they came out, but there's something about older animes that's just not there in newer ones. i think it's the atmosphere? and maybe the art style as well.

anyway, all my favorite animes are oldies: noir, claymore, cowboy bebop... the only newish animes i like are fma and one piece, and apparently they're old too now.

Yeah, same. I like some newer stuff, but I much prefer the older stuff. The art syles are more aesthetically pleasing to me and there's just something about them that some newer stuff lacks.

Yep, FMA and One Piece both hit around when I was in middle school. I remember the early chapters being in the first exported Shounen Jump releases. I think the latter just celebrated a 15-year anniversary a couple years ago.

oh man, 17 years? shit, that means i was 3 when it came out. i never realised it was that old.

at least that explains why i was able to read like 300 chapters in one go when i first got into it.
