It's a common line in romance novels, so while they might be nipping the line from another fic, it started in published novels.

Though really, there should be "romance novel trope bingo" at this point, I'm not sure if some older romnovels I read are the originators of some tropes or if they were the start of it. (Seriously, Nora Roberts' first books, were you ever original, or are you just so tropey as to be laughable now?)
