I remember having to stop going to that site after I read one user's post calling slash fans "cunts" who had issues with their own bodies because these women were shipping Kirk and Spock instead of Spock and Uhura.

I used to love that site for the Trek news, but the fact that no one challenged this user really didn't sit well with me.

DA I think the reason no one challenged it is because a lot of the more sane users tend to not respond to certain comments. ONTD is full of trolls and sometimes responding means bringing a storm down upon yourself.

I've had a relatively peaceful experience on ONTD but that's because I'm careful about how I comment and who I comment to. I usually just lurk and read the news because sometimes even random posts can get messy.

Well, I can certainly agree with you that the sane users would want to sit it out. Way too much drama in that place.
