One thing I learnt from a professor to get a quick overview was to just look at headlines and subheadlines and see if there are any words that are italicized or bolded in the text, and then write them all down. This way you can get an overview over the main things, and also see what you know and what you need to study more. You can also just take a look at the list of content to, again, just get a quick overview. The efficiency of this method varies very much though, depending on the textbook, but when it works I find it works really well for me at least.

Thanks, this helps me to narrow it down a bit. I'm also doing sample problems but there's hundreds of sample problems and there are only 80 questions on the exam.
