I think it's possible to find it tragic that a human life, whether personally known to you or not, has suddenly ended, and in a horrible way.

No, you don't have to be sad about it. People die every day.

It's those folks who are way too giddy or go out of their way to comment, "Oh, so-and-so died? Oh well, who cares" that I don't particularly care to listen to.
