FMA: Brotherhood fandom was just as fun but unfortunately some elitists over Tumblr made it hard to enjoy after a while.

Sadly my experience with first anime fandom wasn't really good (Shamballa fiasco, canon pairings etc.) but I know that that fandom was at it's peak over 2006 and I understand that.

eh, manga elitism was going on in the LJ days before tumblr too, especially when Brotherhood started coming out. LJ was still super active then, but there were some unpleasant manga-vs-anime things going on.

There was, but it was easier to avoid. You could stay in your happy little corner a lot easier on LJ, while on Tumblr everything tends to get mixed together.
likeadeuce: i would like to say i'm riza at work, but I'm more like Roy. 'plotting extracurriculars! cookies for breakfast!' (mustang work day)

I'm always sad there's so much animosity within/between the various incarnations of FMA fandom because it seems like 90 percent of what people like about it holds true no matter which version you follow. And the other parts are different enough that people ought to be able to enjoy them differently. Oh well, fans will be fans.
