Like you said, it's your money OP and you are an adult. I probably spend more money on video games then I do on clothes. But you know what? I've never been that into clothes and my current work doesn't even require nice clothing since I work out of my home.

The only "adult" rule I ever made for myself in regards to purchases was that I have to buy things that serve a purpose, whether it be for my own entertainment or because it's a necessity. I made this rule because when I was young I used to buy a lot of junk that always just ended up in a closet somewhere. But video games? Video games give me entertainment and make me happy, I am more then fine with spending money on it.
