I realize you're trying to encourage the OP and I support that, but I dislike this money:time comparison. You pay no money to watch several hours of TV, but if the TV show is bad (or you don't really like TV and you squirm uncomfortably wishing you had something to do with your hands, like me) that's not really a good return. Probably not the best example, but the point is I think the quality of how that time is spent is a much better measure. An amazing 20-hour game you picked up for 50 dollars is worth more than a mediocre 80-hour game you got in a Steam sale.

Quality is important too, but I figured that was a given. Or at least that the movie's quality would be comparable to the game's quality.

And considering how much cable is, I don't really consider most tv to be free. Though, I suppose you could make a case for Nexflix and how cable tv is falling out of style.

But I get where you're coming from and totally agree that quality is the most important aspect.
