I get this. I think there's a lot of female character potential that hasn't been explored because writers are still stuck in the repetitive cycle of male. Like you could have women doing all the things men have done, but we haven't gotten most of that yet because women characters mostly get put in a box. But then women also have experiences that are unique to them. A male character will never have to overcome prejudice against his gender the way a female character would. So there's even more complexity there for female characters.

This is actually one of the reasons that I love Final Fantasy 14 so much: the women in that society are actually treated as being equals to men and that's seen as a completely normal thing. You have numerous women in roles of power, women warriors and adventurers are just as common as men, and no one thinks anything of this or makes a big deal about it because it's just accepted

Continuing on, it's just accepted that women can do all of the things that men can do and be every bit as good at it. It's kind of nice to see that 2 of the 3 representatives/generals of the city-states are women who command every bit as much respect as the one guy.
