(Anonymous) 2014-09-15 11:20 pm (UTC)(link)Thinking you need dysphoria to be trans. Thinking that being trans isn't a choice.
Re: Let's play a game.
Like LGBT people fight for rights and fight against the idea that its a choice for ages, and these jokers come in like "but being trans IS a choice" "...." "it's just the RIGHT choice. everybody be trans!" and a bunch of people go along with it. *sigh*

Also I've seen some stuff written by political lesbians about "I can't stand seeing my poor friends with men. I need to tell them about political lesbianism" and it comes across very creepy to me. Sort of like 'Entitled Nice guys" the same philosophy "those guys you're dating are jerks and assholes , why don't you date me?"
but yeah. I don't have a problem with women making choices on who they want to date. But I have a problem with people shouting from the rooftops that orientation is a choice
even if they think its the better choice.
Sorry if I sound like a jerk.

Re: Let's play a game.
If I had a friend who kept patronizingly trying to "save" me from my boyfriend I'd end up getting mad and laying down an ultimatum-
"either you respect my personal life decisions, or we're done."
Like they don't have to agree if I do something fucked up but like dictating who I date? HELL NO.
