I read one of his books and I was greatly unimpressed. It felt like he was intentionally going for edgy. However, it was an early novel. Still, the only part I liked about it was the one beautifully written line that made me read the books in the first place.

As for everything else, I saw his gif sets and a few videos long before I even considered reading one of his books. I just don't think that he is for me at this time.

Oh. But if I said any of this aloud or on Tumblr, I would burn.

Nah, there's a lot of John Green haters on Tumblr.

What's the one beautifully-written line?

"If people were rain, I was drizzle and she was a hurricane."

-Looking for Alaska

It was part of an incomplete quote that was posted on Tumblr, but it was enough to get me to read the book.

I was unimpressed with what I read of his too. And then I was really annoyed by the characters of The Fault in Our Stars and gave up pretty early.
