Re: Creepy nighttime noises

At my mom's place there is a pair of great horned owls that sing love songs to each other at night. I don't find it creepy so much as calming though.

The creepiest thing I've ever heard was a sound that I couldn't identify. It was this droning kind of whine that was somewhat like a band saw or a table saw, but kept awkwardly and suddenly raising the pitch all while simultaneously getting louder and louder. It wasn't like any car noise I have ever heard, it sounded like god damn aliens.

Needless to say it was right at twilight too, and I noped on into the house as fast as a person can nope. To this day I'm not even sure whether or not I hallucinated it or what, because I never heard it again after that.
