Frogs. They're comfortingly creepy though. For the longest time, I couldn't figure out where they were coming from. I just knew that I'd be walking home at the god damn witching hour, and there's this echoing chorus in every direction. When I took a long way near the river and through the ravine, at least I knew where they were, but I also found that the shallow ditch near the house was also filled with water and wiggly frogs. The only reason I saw them was because I tried to jump over it and completely failed at everything but soaking myself silly. they were so tiny and cute ♥ Since the city's been redeveloping that particular area into a road this summer, I only get to hear the farther calls :(

Also, there's this distant bell-like ringing in the very early morning on an arbitrary day. I know it's probably just clanging construction sounds from some ways away, but it's around even in the winter. I think that not being able to locate the source, or know exactly what it's from, is what bothers me. It feels timed too, like it's following a metronome, and it goes on for over an hour. Like frogs, it's also comforting since I know to expect it.
