So both, Robin Thicke and Pharell Williams admitted that Williams was the solo writer of Blurred Lines. And even though Williams SAID he was the writer (and that Thicke contributed very little) the idiotic parts of the internet refuse to believe it. Because how can the awesome Pharell Williams (who was so amazing in the Daft Punk song) be the writer. Fantastic.

I'm really not sure why people are surprised that the guy who's really good at writing songs is the guy who wrote the song, and not the other guy, who's not good at writing songs

Yeah, that whole thing was pretty funny. And the furor over that song has been ridiculous. ONE blogger comes out and says it's "kinda rapey" and suddenly OMG IT'S THE DEVIL. And then to find out that Robin Thicke was high out of his mind and Pharell wrote it?

Right? This is great.

I don't mind the lyrics too much, tbh. For me what swung me was the tone and manner in which I imagined them being said. The song on the radio sounded playful to me and I didn't mind it until I saw the video and the singer's mannerisms about it which creeped me the fuck out right to nopesville.

(Anonymous) 2014-09-17 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, the video was kind of creepy.

isn't Pharell the "new black" idiot anyway? I can tell you a significant portion of the internet finds him eyeroll worthy

So Williams is the one who rights rapist shit. I knew it. Another *****er that degrades women.

This is why all colored people should be euthanized like the sick dogs they are.
