When I was too young to really understand the full scope of political implications, I told my friend's really liberal, pro-Gore friend that my dad voted for Bush. Pretty sure that's why our parents never became friends.

(I later learned it wasn't true. I just knew he hadn't voted for Al Gore.)

When I was in elementary school I asked my teacher who he voted for, and was shocked when he told me that was extremely rude and that I should never ask someone that. My own father couldn't shut up about who he voted for, so I never realized that.

But anyway, yeah, I see what you mean. Although I wouldn't have been that offended over an elementary schooler asking that. :/

When I was in second or third grade I told everyone I was a lesbian because I thought it meant the opposite of gay.
