They did, and the three Vanir we know of were counted amongst the Aesir, and some Aesir had either a Jotun parent (e.g. Thor) or began as a Jotun (e.g. Skadi). "Aesir" doesn't seem to have been a racially-bounded term.

Most of the racists dismiss all of that, however, because...well, they don't have very good arguments, honestly. It all relies on misinterpretation of myth (which shouldn't be taken literally, anyway) and a complete disregard for history and biology. Basically, they're just like the racists in every other group. :-/
