How is that passive-aggressive? It's being honest. Are you supposed to tell the artist before you (the commissioner) posts the piece with full credit?

Because if the artist was assumedly too ashamed to post it themselves, the poster would get to show the internet blogs what a pile of shit they're capable of making without saying it's shit themselves.

It really really relies on the assumption being true, and that a good chunk of everyone agrees with the "it's shit" sentiment, though.

I think it also relies on the artist noticing and caring about them posting it. *shrug* and peoples' reactions I guess.

So it's passive-aggressive, you're right, but it might not work, is what I'm saying. Though I think they should do it anyway, even if my reasoning would be a little different (not trying to start a p-a shitstorm, just wanting people to know the truth of my experience).

I know that "passive-aggressive" has been completely stretched to mean things it was never supposed to, but I actually think this qualifies. It's simply "expressing aggression in a passive way" so posting a commission that you think sucks and secretly hoping people get the message is pretty passive, but it's an expression of your anger.

Well, I guess in this case it really depends on the assumption that it's actually going to rile the artist. It seems unlikely - I doubt the artist is even paying attention.

Maybe it would, but I wouldn't count on it.
