Hate making 'em even more than I hate buying 'em, and I get really uncomfortable at the way my dad treats anything I write, no matter how ephemeral, like it must be treasured as a new addition to the literary canon.

I know it sounds annoying to you and maybe it is, but that just means he values everything you give to him, and you mean so much to him. I think it's sweet.

Oh, he values everything I do until I have an opinion he doesn't agree with, at which point I go from his brilliant daughter who must be bragged about (and who he must parade in front of everyone no matter how uncomfortable it makes me) to a dumb kid who doesn't know anything.
