Well geez, yeah. I just want to know if I should say "congratulations" or "that's rough, buddy" to any Scottish people I happen to meet.

I guess I will be polite and ignore them.

Really, if you're looking for something to say, it's probably better to wait for the other person to take the lead - it's not as if all Scots agree on the matter, after all.
