Well, it's pretty hard to save much when you get to keep so little.

Yeah ,especially because I do like spending SOME.

(also I find myself freaking out lately when my hours are low. "oh no am I being let go" "do they not need me anymore?" "am I going to be let go after I had one time where I got overwhelmed?" Is that normal?)

If they knew you were putting 10 percent of each paycheck (or even 5 percent) in a savings account, would your parents consent to take half of what's left, instead of taking their half right off the top?

Hmm...maybe.

(I still wouldn't put it past them to say they 'can't trust me' because "something something high school" or something.) IDK

Either that or just be like "But you need to contribute your share to the household." IDK
