Might I ask why, though? It's not really making sense to me. Do you just not acknowledge the existence of people who aren't like you? I'm not sure how you'd possibly be able to make this work in present day society...

It's more like...I find myself not acknowledging other people unless I have a reason to. I go for a walk and pass a dozen people along the way, but I don't "see" a single one of them because I have no incentive to acknowledge them.

At the time, I figured that putting all this stuff on the secret would just make it cluttered and tl;dr, but I guess maybe I ought to have been more thorough about explaining it. Or maybe it's just a confusing secret in general, I don't know.

*laughs* It sounds like any city dweller passing a homeless person in the street. I'm surprised the OP needed to read a book to learn how to do that.

Aha, yeah. I don't really get it still. Then again, I grew up and live in New York City, so I do the same just because it's in my nature.
