But we only have one side of the conversation, and it is an incredibly concern-trolly secret. OP just wants to save her friend from thinking like "them" when "defending her views"? Why is her friend having to defend her views? That seems less like friendly fandom discussion to me, and more like OP grilling her friend to suss out the evil SJW lurking inside.

And let's be real about it. Teen Wolf fandom is notoriously racist so I'm less likely to give OP the benefit of the doubt if their friend started talking about how fucked up general fandom attitudes are.
