Boyband music. It is so corny and cheesy, but I love it. Nysnc, Backstreet Boys, 98º, etc. I love them all.

It depends if one is most into the music or the variety and watching them interact.

Music-wise, definitely Kanjani8 and TOKIO. Variety/comedy wise it's Arashi. Arashi is more easily accessible as well since it's so popular, and has way more teams that subtitle.

I've always wanted to check out V6 and get their albums, but I've never gotten around to it.

Oh thank you so much for the recs! Do you like Exile? I've been meaning to get into them but no idea where to start. Only heard one of their songs, Firework and loved the hell out of it. The video for it is great and the setting gorgeous.

I can't even remember if I still have any of their albums. It was years ago when I was into them.

No problem! My favourite band KAT-TUN is great music-wise too. More rock-ish with a fair amount of variety. And great concert DVDs. Although not much for subbing at all. And all the drama is long over and done with! (2 members leaving) I also like NEWS. I'm not so much into the younger groups.

I'm not into Exile! I've been meaning to check them out too (and possibly foraying into the hostile territory that is Kpop but have been putting it off.) I always put off getting into groups with larger discographies since there's way more to download and sort.

I know what you mean. A lot of the most prominient groups are older ones and they've released a ton of music. It is a bit intimadating to get into groups with such large bodies of work. My poor wallet is already screaming at the thought, lol. I've thought about doing the same since kpop groups are hot and have active fandoms. No idea where to start.

If you prefer to buy them, I don't think there are set prices. There are a variety of sources for purchase, be it officially, or second-hand from other fans. It's not really my area of expertise though, my apologies (since I'm a downloader/leecher? lol). I've only bought one DVD from an official site (it was $80 some dollars in Canada, although most of that was shipping...)

Yes, WEEEK is the best! So nostalgic, since NEWS was my first group.

Yes, so true about older groups. That's the biggest reason I don't. Getting into Arashi was pretty hard - but fun since lots of things. On that previous link there were Kpop pimp posts too. But yeah, it's so overwhelming and intimidating! Haha

Haha, I would download them if I wasn't afraid of my ISP getting wind of it. Don't want to take any chances. Oh yeah, shipping is such a pain. That's where they get ya.

Weeek is fucking fantastic. Cute guys in suits singing a catchy as fuck song. Soooo right up my alley.

Oh, I've got to look asap. Going to check out KAT-TUN'S stuff right now.
