I wish there were more villain characters who are shown to believe they're doing necessary evil. Like villains that fully believe they're decent people doing bad things for the overall good (instead of going "whatever I'm an awful person and don't care mwa ha ha"). There are lots of villains that do that for their own groups and think they're fighting the good fight (Magneto from X-Men, for example) but that's a very personal/in-group thing - there are way fewer that do villainy and destruction for the sake of EVERYONE, believing they're a hero (Ozymandias from Watchmen, for example). Even fewer where it's shown to actually work because sometimes evil methods ARE necessary.

This is why I like the Tales of videogames - the series is full of villains like that, who genuinely believe that what they are doing is for the greater good of the world. And in most cases, their intentions are good (as in, they want to correct a very real wrong), it's just that they're going about things the wrong way.
