I finally started playing this game last weekend, and I hated Mink's route while I was playing it. It was hard to drag myself through (props to N+C for not shying away from how horrible it was, though). Yet the more time it's been since I've played it, and the more it percolates in my brain, the more interesting a character I find Mink. Horrible, horrible human being, but fascinating character.

(As horrible as it was, though, I found the scene where they fuck at the club to be the hottest sex scene in the whole game.)

I'm going to play Mink's route next (the first route I played was Koujaku and I loved it). I really want to get to the true ending. ;;;;

I can understand this, although in my situation no one would be sad or angry if I was gone. Those left here would just be miffed that they were inconvenienced.

OP, if you have people that you know would mourn you, there's still hope.

Well, it's a good thing you aren't someone who can easily screw with the people you love to make them hate you. I don't know your exact situation, but imo the fact that you can't hurt them in that way means you're probably a decent person. That you have people who care about you is wonderful, and important, and if you want to get help I bet they would support you. Just saying. I hope things work out for you.

As for Mink...oh man, the first time I saw him in the anime (it was the end of the first episode, I think? Or second?) I thought, "Damn, that's a hot piece of ass. I want him." Then I decided to play the game, went with Koujaku because he seemed my type, and when I got to Mink...holy crap, rarely have I hated a game character so much. (And I saw very little of him, and almost none of his story.) I read some of his wiki page but that was enough to convince me his route wasn't for me. If I ever play another route it'll probably be Noiz's, but other than him I'm not terribly interested in the other LI's. (Okay, Clear is cute, but...idk. And Ren? NOPE.)

You're allowed to find him interesting though. People find horrible characters interesting all the time.

Right?! Ren is the main ending! Plus his human form is super hot, dang. XD

I've read most of his wiki too, so I don't feel like I'm missing much. I know it isn't a big deal for most people, but I can't get over "This dude was in the form of a talking dog robot and now you can fuck him."

I mean, I do get why it would weird you out, but I'm not kidding when I say that, like, 60% of the story is explained in Ren's route. Why Aoba's hair can feel, what exactly is going on with the voices in his head and his headaches, his parents, Toue's plans... Things that really only get hinted at in the endings of the other routes (also, you're really doing yourself a disservice if you skip Clear's route - it's beautiful, and he's an adorable character). You can read the wiki, but there are still a lot of details of the story you'll miss if you don't actually finish the game.

Then again, Koujaku's good ending is still the cutest thing ever, so maybe that's satisfying enough. :)

I would like to know all those things so maybe I'll eventually just watch his playthrough, but at the same time...I'm really not interested in the romance aspect of the Ren route. Just the plot stuff. I know you can't have one without the other though, so I'm not in any hurry to play it. (Especially since to play it I would need to do Mink's route, and nope, nope, if I want to see the Ren route I'll watch it instead.)

I liked that Koujaku's route was sweet and not terribly fucked up (considering the other routes) and that's what I wanted. I wasn't too enthused about doing the other routes because I found the game kind of boring. I loved Koujaku, Aoba was cute and the story was pretty cool, but I'm not used to visual novels and wanted...well, more to do.

The only reasons I haven't killed myself are because I just don't know what happens and the bit of pain you have to go through to get there.
