The secrets today are rather depressing. Post something good and happy!

My sister and I are having ice cream and bonding with each other. I love it when I babysit her and this happens, she's such a cool kid. ^^

I had my first shop class session of the year today. I made a Transformers sticker for my laptop, I successfully got myself and both of my younger brothers home on lightrail after, and the guy who taught our class last year has agreed to do a reference letter for me.

just found out i'm eligible for a foreign exchange program in the us! i need to see how much it'd cost before considering applying, but i'd really like to go.

Neat-o! Is the cost an overall thing or does it depend on what city/state/section of the country you go to?

it very much depends on the region. the most interesting school in the program is in california, so i imagine it's pretty expensive! and there's another interesting one in new york, which seems even worse.

Question, where do you find out these things?

i was at a pre-start of the semester reunion and the person who takes care of this program told us that those of us with good enough marks and a specific specialization were eligible. fortunately, i don't have much competition!

I finally named my brand new kitten. Had him two days before I figured out a name. Giles. His name is Giles. (That's how I know I belong here, lol.)

You should give him some glasses and speak to him in an English accent. Do you have pictures?

I would like to get some pictures up - thank you! If I can get my brain to work right, lol. I forgot how active kittens were in the night.

And LOL I love that! Glasses and English accents - ha!

Starbucks near my house finally has salted caramel mocha again. Bad for my blood sugar, but wonderful for my soul.

Thanks to having a little extra this month due to the oddities of bi-monthly paychecks but weekly time sheets, I decided to go ahead on Monday (payday!) and use some of the extra money to order pretty much an entirely new waterbed set. Heater, liner, and mattress to replace the 30-year-old set which busted earlier this year.

I'd done my research over the weekend and decided which models I wanted and which seller, so I just put in the order Monday morning... got the shipping and tracking info from UPS the same day, and knew it would be arriving today, so I got everything all ready - and as soon as it arrived, I just had to set the stuff in the bed frame and stick the hose in, and three hours later it was all good to go!

Now it's not even as cold today as it has been for the last week or so, but every time I go in my room and even just sit down for a second to switch game carts in my 3DS or something, I feel like I should be making Homer-Simpson-looking-at-donuts noises. It's so niiiiiice and waaaarm... :D :D :D I'm so so glad I did this, and got it done before winter hit. Warm waterbeds on cold winter nights are the BEST.

Oh, hello fellow waterbed lover. Would you mind terribly letting me know where you ordered that? *chinhands and puppydog eyes*

By all means! I did all my ordering through Amazon, and the best combination of prices/reviews all happened to come from Rick's Home Store. I have yet to leave reviews (since I've had the stuff for less than 24 hours), but I can vouch for quick shipping, and everything arriving in good condition.

I have a Super Single size, so what I ordered was this mattress, this liner, and this heater. I'm not sure why the description on the liner now says it's Queen size, because the one I got definitely fit my frame and the mattress perfectly. Feels more durable than my old one, too, so I'm very pleased with that. The heater was simple to set up if you follow the instructions and reverse-roll it to get rid of the curl from having been rolled up for storage, but I can't vouch for a fast heat-up, since I used an indoor faucet to fill the mattress with hot water. As for the mattress, it feels good and sturdy like the original mattress did - the replacement mattress that lasted less than a year felt a little flimsy - but only time will tell.

I had sex three times today, maybe a 4th time before bed.
