Supernatural: It's a show about two fairly attractive guys dealing with tons of manpain and emotional issues while traveling across America in a fucking sweet car slaying a bunch of monsters. And then subsequently trying to save the world from the apocalypse, while dealing with even more manpain, and also another really attractive guys show up.

Basically, if you like some combination of hot guys, sweet cars, monster-slaying, road trip stories, trying to prevent the apocalypse, and intense male angst, it's at least worth checking out, because it's essentially all of those things.

Seen, the thing is I've sen pictures and neither of them really do it for me in terms of attractiveness, so I'd be watching for the plot.

Hmmmm that makes it a much tougher sell. There's still some appeal though if you like the other elements. I don't think it's especially great as a dramatic show - it can be quite melodramatic - but the monster-hunting stuff can be strong. And, again, a TON of angst.

I do like angst (and monsters)

To add to the Supernatural encouragement, the first three seasons are pretty strong in terms of monster-of-the-week type plots, and a lot of them can stand alone. The pilot episode concerning the Woman in White is a pretty good representative episode, so I'd give that a shot and see if you like it.

Orphan Black: The story can be a bit silly at times, but it's still pretty interesting that you'll just keep wanting to know what happens next after the end of every episode. It's original, and fun, and has a lot of dark humor. Also, worth it to see Tatiana Maslaney play a bunch of different clones, who all have different personalities. Sometimes you forget it's even the same actress.

That last part does sound fascinating

The most amazing thing about that is actually that Tatiana is not only playing a bunch of different, clearly distinguishable characters but that in the course of the show these characters impersonate each other sometimes. And each time that happens you're able to see that there is a noticeable difference between Tatiana as Alison and Tatiana as Sarah pretending to be Alison. Not that the plot doesn't matter, but Tatiana Maslany's acting alone is something you just have to see.

I've always been meaning to watch it since I heard such good things! And that actress is from my hometown.

In The Flesh deals with the aftermath of a zombie uprising, with zombies being rehabilitated into living society and are kept in check through this chemical they have to inject daily so they don't turn into shuffling brain-eaters. It's about the struggles of the partially deceased syndrome sufferers (PDS, which they're called on the show because it's seen as a medical ailment sort of) to try and readjust to "life", as it were. All the while they're faced with immense prejudice and backlash from the living community because of the mass killing sprees they inflicted. Some struggle with the guilt of the people they've killed, others saw it just as a means of survival. Can living people co-exist with potentially dangerous other beings, who technically should have stayed dead? Can this be seen as a second chance at life?

So yeah, I think it's an interesting take on the current zombie trend.

I had never heard of it until I came across this article at AV Club (which was the catalyst for my own initial viewing of the show):

Orphan Black flips the sci-fi script by putting female agency first

Supernatural: If you like gritty episodic horror stories in small-town America with a small side of family drama as relating to demons, at least the first few seasons are worth it. That was what initially attracted me to the show and kept me watching long enough to get attached, actors were cute and all, but the creepy takes on methods of dispatching classic campfire monsters like the Woman In White and Bloody Mary were much more interesting.
