Except the vibranium shield's never been tested before, so no, she can't actually know that it'll work.

And Steve's fondue comment wasn't "lolz ur sleeping with Howard", it was "well aren't you with Howard anyway, so why are you angry that I'm kissing someone else?" so no, it wasn't a "fuck off" reaction, it was a ~*~jealous woman~*~ reaction, and undermined a lot of her character.

Oh, come on, the properties have to have been known even to make a shield.

And you can keep saying "it was a ~*~jealous woman~*~ reaction" all you want but the above is how I read the scene at the time, and I'm clearly not the only one. I'm not saying the previous scene couldn't've pissed her off (upping the scale of the reaction, no emotional moment is an island) but I stand by my analysis.

You and the other "Steve was slut shaming her" anon are fucking idiots then because it's blatantly obvious that wasn't the intent. He was pointing out that she was (presumably) already with Howard, so there's no reason for her to be jealous over Steve making out with someone else. If anything, she slut shamed him for assuming he's like every other promiscuous army man.

Have you ever considered reading for content? I suggest giving that a go, it might help. It was insubordination with specifically sexual overtones, and that is not arguable, that is text. I compared it directly to another, cruder case of exactly that, and I did so for a reason.
