Re: Anti-Depression meds interfering with creativity
I don't know much about medicine except that different ones act differently to different people.
Sorry I'm not much help.
Re: Anti-Depression meds interfering with creativity
I would like to find out if St. Johns Wort would help, but I need to find out if it'd interact with the meds I really have to take (I have an inner ear condition, if I don't take certain meds, I'll flounder around like a drunk). If it doesn't, then I might try that as a substitute. I'd like to talk to my doctor about it, though, before I go gung ho into that.
Re: Anti-Depression meds interfering with creativity
(I once had an anxiety medication that RAMPED UP my OCD and gave me horrible violent and self destructive thoughts. It was a whole week of hell and I was so relieved when my parents figured it was the new meds and stopped giving them to me. I was so bad that my brother didn't want to leave me in our house.)
Yeah that sounds like a good thing to try. I hope that works out and you can find a solution without losing your creativity. Good luck <3
Re: Anti-Depression meds interfering with creativity
I am feeling better, but I know what would take care of my depression issues - unfortunately, finding a decent full-time job with benefits in this city is pretty much unlikely, at this point (ten years here and I've yet to get a job with decent benefits and/or vacation time).
Re: Anti-Depression meds interfering with creativity
Ahhh. I had (and sometimes have if I lose my current job) that issue. It's really frustrating and scary. I hope and pray you get one <3
Re: Anti-Depression meds interfering with creativity
Thank you, I appreciate it.
Re: Anti-Depression meds interfering with creativity
Glad to help.
Re: Anti-Depression meds interfering with creativity
(Anonymous) 2014-09-21 03:35 am (UTC)(link)St. John's Wort, Vitamin B, and Jasmine Absolut Oil all help lift depression. There are a lot of different TYPES of Vitamin B and I found that route is really risky because if you have too much Vitamin B it can give you a headache and if you don't have enough, it can also give you a headache. Jasmine Absolut smells like peaches actually and you'd place the oil over your heart. And if you want to try St. John's Wort, I'd try to find someone who sells the herb in your area and knows about the proper dosages. Look for a Nature Sunshine Product's dealer. A lot of times either the dosage instructions on the bottles are too low or scarily enough, too high. St. John's Wort does work. Also, try Vitamin D. It's scary how much Vitamin D does in your body and most people do not get enough of it.
If you are sensitive to meds, then I'd try Jasmine first and see if that helps at all. Because St. John's Wort comes in a powder inside vitamin gel capsules (last I knew) and they don't divide.
Re: Anti-Depression meds interfering with creativity
My doc is pretty cool with alternate medications/medicines, but we didn't discuss herbs last time I saw her.
I'm thinking the Jasmine Oil could be located at a few of the natural food shops locally, but I'll have to check.
