Uh, I'm out of town for the weekend but PM me about this tomorrow night and I'll go grab my textbook on classic Chinese film and I'll write down the highlights for you. Right now all I can remember is "Drunken Master" with Jackie Chan, and probably anything with Bruce Lee in it is pretty good. John Woo's "The Killer" has kind of a wuxia style but it mostly uses guns.

fake edit: The 36th Chamber of Shaolin, Fist of Fury, Enter the Dragon, and Once Upon a Time in China are all supposed to be excellent although I've never seen them. If you want a comedy, I love Stephen Chow's films (especially Kung Fu Hustle and Shaolin Soccer)

Thank you show much for both the offer and the recs! I don't have an account on here or lj and dw so I can't pm you tomorrow night. I've been meaning to but can't think of a username and all I've got to browse on is my phone. I apologize. If you can remember, would you mind making a thread for the recs?

I've seen King Fu Hustle and thoroughly enjoyed it so definitely gonna pick up Shaolin Soccer as well as the rest of his films. :) added the others to the list as well!

Absolutely watch Shaolin Soccer, it's hysterical and one of my favorite movies.
