This. To each their own, obviously, but the costumes were a big part of why I just cannot stand this show.

It's sad because it does otherwise have a lot of potential as a quality drama, actually. But guess the target demographic means the garish costumes and obnoxious indie pop soundtrack has to stay (which I think is underestimating said demographic, but there ya go). :/

Ooh yes, the soundtrack. That was a turn off as well. Which is a shame because it's a fascinating era of history and I don't think they strictly NEED to do the whole fashion mash-up + indie soundtrack to interest a younger audience. It's actually kind of condescending, IMO.

+1 I should learn to stop expecting American shows to stop treating historical Europe like a fantasy land combined with a wardrobe straight from pinterest.

I see your point, but no one expects historical accuracy from a show based on a legend.

Robin Hood's a legend, the setting and time period in which the story takes place is real. Having heroines run around in orange spandex gowns and villains dressed in vinyl is going to look really odd, "legend" or not.
