Yeah…I know.

The thing is, I don't go around and say that to people who ship it. It's not like I say "YOUR PAIRING IS DUMB AND YOU'RE DUMB FOR LIKING IT."

I just write meta about WHY I don't ship it (not tagging it with the ship name).

The reason I say this is because I saw one canon shipper post a screenshot of a summary for a fan fiction that DOWNPLAYED the canon pairing (basically re-interpreted the scenes to delegitimize the pairing) and started saying AWFUL things about the author.

And…I just don't understand. The pairing ISN'T real. The characters AREN'T real. Say 10,000 awful things about them and no one is hurt (unless you're being a bigot in regards to your dislike), but attacking a real person -- an author -- just feels awful to me.

And I know my rant was over-the-top. I just figured it would fit with the theme of "venting."
