(Anonymous) 2014-09-21 09:14 pm (UTC)(link)I don't see anything wrong with saying you think a ship or a character is awful and you don't like them.
Calling out awful behavior is fine -- if people are being bigoted or attacking you personally for liking a canon pair, for instance. But I'm sick of all the generalizations being thrown at non-canon shippers because a ship can be HUGE and include an ENORMOUS number of people. And making generalizations about all of them kind of makes you a dick, in my book.

I agree there.
I once wrote a post that criticized the way that Danny/Sam was written and even though I stated that I didn't hate the concept I got a comment by this hyper-defensive shipper "nobody cares bitch" with insulting angry gifs. According to her tags I was an "anti-shipper"
I went to look at her deviant art page. A whole section of it was a shrine to the pairing saying "It's canon deal with it" and stamps that said pathetic things like "they just hate her because they're jealous"
