If you're so emotional that reading a fic with a pairing you don't ship makes you want to throw up, that's outside the norm and yes, there IS something wrong with that because that level of sensitivity will greatly affect your ability to function.

"OMG! I just saw a commercial for a laundry softener that makes me break out, I'm going to barf and then have a cup of tea to calm myself down!"

That's not merely emotional, it's unhinged... or it's something who wants attention so badly they're willing to behave in an over the top attention-seeking manner. Either way, nah.
