Flanderization isn't people suddenly acting the opposite of how they were, though, it's people's character traits slowly becoming more and more exaggerated and narrow over time. E.g. -- Ned Flanders used to be a mild-mannered, friendly, wholesome, religious guy. Now he's a mindless neurotic Bible-thumper.

AYRT - Sorry, I didn't phrase that well! I meant flanderization in addition to characters just becoming the opposite of how they were - so really, one extreme or the other.
