Bloody hell, what was the title??

Just once I'd like to see a film where I can't predict the characters' fates purely because of their race/gender. :(

Linked because I spoiled it!

I remember several films like that from that general time period, trying to surprise people with which demographics survived. It was nice not to be sure who'd live, a shame that recent films have gone right back to stereotypes.

It's a damn shame they've gone back to it. I saw Pacific Rim the other night, and at one point there was a control room full of people - mostly Asian and a handful of white folk. The white people were all the main characters and in charge, the asian people were all fillers.

...I just. :(

There were other issues, but I don't want to give specific spoilers.

Oh, that's one trend I hate more than anything. Like, none of the 29423049 white guys on the main cast could have been Chinese, in a film set in Hong Kong for no apparent reason?

That annoyed me, too. We're in Hong Kong, where the hell are all the Chinese people and why don't they get more than two lines?

This always bugged me about Blade Runner. Big crowds of Asians, signs in Japanese and a few white people have all the dialogue and all the action.
