Does LJ hide posts?

(Anonymous) 2014-09-21 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
So a friend on LJ posted, and I thought "wow, it must have been a year since she's posted!" Only to realize she's posted quite frequently.

Does LJ hide posts? Because the only other thing I can think is that she's posting at the times I'm not on LJ, but since I got LJ in 2004 it's happened to me several times now. It's weird and very annoying. :/

not quite sure what you're asking but lj does allow posting privately/to custom friends groups so that you can let a select few to see it which would still show up in the "last updated" field on the profile

Assuming she didn't flock/filter it and change the settings, it's possible to click a setting where your post doesn't show up on peoples' flists. Likewise, you should make sure you're reading your general flist and not a custom feed that excludes her journal, or that you're logged in when you read.

She might have locked them and/or filtered them so that only certain people can see the posts.

If the posts were made to the f-list (and assuming they don't have that custom filter) you won't see the posts if you're not logged in.

Sometimes people forget that their default access is f-list rather than public.
