That's actually true of a lot of jobs, give or take some extra training courses. It's because (most) university degrees exist/are prerequisites for positions more to differentiate job candidates and to authenticate divisions in the job market (in terms of pay and prestige) and in the bureaucratic hierarchy than to train you for a particular job.

Doesn't mean they're not valuable for what they are or what they actually do though.
