I think too some people read from their phones or in other ways and just don't bother to sign in.

(It's also possible -- if the fic is anything other than het/gen -- that they're reading material that is prohibited, and so don't leave any sort of trail that could be traced back to them.)

I've yet to receive any named kudos (I do consistently get anon kudos, though). I also write some... kinda weird stuff. Out of the myriad completely fine reasons to not leave kudos logged in, it's an especially good one.

Yeah I thought I saw a news story not long ago about young women in -- was it China? -- coming under some sort of legal action/sanctions for reading/writing slash and visiting yaoi websites.

According to my ff.net country stats, I get a good chunk of my hits from countries where homosexuality is punishable by imprisonment or death.

Are you the anon who posted that secret awhile ago about how the secret maker loved to see what countries they were getting hits from in their states (and was especially happy that a lot came from said countries where homosexuality was a crime)?

No, but I can understand the sentiment.
