Re: **Is there still no yuri in KH fandom?

People still hate these two right? I totally empathize with this secret on so many levels.

Yep. For the most part, female KH characters still get a lot of hate.

... Somehow, I shouldn't be surprised that this is still the case, but I am.

Somethings, sadly, never change. And I only suspect it'll get worse/blow up all over again once KH3 is out. =/

I'm dreading the release of KH3 for that very reason. The fandom will be utterly insufferable.

They still get a lot of bashing, but they've also gotten a lot more fans in the past couple of years. I think this is, in part, due to the overall change of climate in fandom that has made it less cool to bash female characters for no reason. Obviously it still happens, but overall it's much less common that it was in most fandoms around five-15 years ago. I think they'll get a much more positive reception when KH 3 comes out than they did when KH 1 and 2 did, even if they'll always have some haters.

That's promising to hear.

I do like that the overall climate is changing in respect to female characters, particularly in the Squenix fandoms... on a semi-related tangent, I was pleasantly surprised to see there wasn't nearly as much hatred towards Tifa (and even Aerith) like there was even 10-13 years ago after revisiting the FF7 fandom output recently (though that's not to say the senseless hate has gone away completely). I can only hope that as the fans who hated the females in the KH series for no reason (or shipping reasons) grow up, so too will have their opinions as well.

I've been noticing that too and I'm really happy about it. Nowadays whenever a FF7 fic comes out that mentions or centers on Tifa or Aerith, it's more likely than not in a positive light (or at least not a negative light). Even Rinoa (who, in my fandom experience at least, got a lot more hate than even Tifa or Aerith. And, okay, I'll admit that I found her to be a bit grating but I never hated her) has been getting more positive attention from the fan base. It's a nice trend, even if it does sometimes go too far in the other direction with people in fandom putting female characters on a pedestal for no reason or greatly exaggerating how capable/awesome they are and won't accept any criticism of them. Still, that's better than insane character bashing
