(Anonymous) 2014-09-23 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)Thing is, there are complexities to illegal drug usage that aren't there with legal drugs like alcohol - America's ridiculous War on Drugs, for one, which makes it harder for people with a problem to get help and treatment. To say nothing of the fact that street drugs can be cut with all sorts of other toxins because there's no oversight in production due to their illicit nature. I get that you're trying to weaken the mistaken idea that alcohol isn't a "real" drug, but I think you're overlooking some important differences in the process.
