I finished the last book in The Giver Quartet, Son.

It was a very peaceful read, for lack of a better word. Lowry's writing is better and more poetic.

I have read the first three of the quartet. As someone who has not read the books in years, how easy is it to read Son? Is a lot of prior knowledge needed?

I reread the Giver recently, but i haven't read the other two since high school...well, if you recognize the names and remember where they're from, I found I didn't really need to know the middle two books.

I completely forgot there was a fourth book. I really want to reread Gathering Blue because I read it before becoming disabled and I want to see if I appreciate it from that angle now, but I can't find my copy anywhere.

I keep forgetting that there was anything after the first book, I have to read the other three.
