I really, really do like that argument implicitly relies on the idea that sex is only enjoyable for men and that it's something that women only ever put up with to get other things.

Not at all what I was saying. What I was saying is that the boy in this situation believes women are the only ones who implicitly have to endure the negative consequences of sex. My argument is that this should not be so.
