I've checked out the wiki, but I got a dead link and I still don't really get it.

the link IS a bit tricky to find.

1. Log into Ao3.

2. Go to http://archiveofourown.org/tag_sets/479

3. Click in the first fandom field.

4. Start typing the name of the fandom you want to nominate. If it's on the drop down, select it; if not, type it out fully.

5. If the fandom was chosen from the dropdown, click in the empty character field and start typing the name of one of the characters. If they appear on the dropdown select them; if not type out in full (if they have a common name like "mary" it's best to enter as "Mary (name of fandom)" ).

6. Click in the next empty character field, and repeat for the other characters you are nominating.

7. Click in the next empty fandom field, and repeat steps 4 through 6.

8. When done there should be a "submit" button (or something similarly named.)

I would add to #5 - either hit enter after typing the character name, or just make sure a checkmark appears next to it. Otherwise the entry won't be recorded.

And to that, if you want to get rid of something, just click the "X" next to it.

Ooh, I didn't know that one. I just wrote out my noms carefully ahead of time so I wouldn't fuck them up.

A quick and dirty criteria: if the fandom has more than 1000 completed fics of over 1000 words in English on FFnet and Ao3 combined, it WILL NOT be eligible.
