(anon from above)

I don't think it's really meant to emulate peanut butter so much as a pb-tasting sugar/fat paste? So I can see where that would be off-putting if you were expecting actual peanut butter (I love Reese's cups, but I grew up on them haha).

Jello here is a gelatin jiggly food (I think it is what you call jelly?). Jelly here doesn't have the fruit in it, just juice for flavoring (so it's more easily spreadable), and jam/preserves are pretty similar (fruit pieces mixed in) but I think jam is more "homogenous" (like if you mixed pulp in) while preserves tend to have bigger chunks of fruit (maybe)?

Ohhh. I thought that might just be your actual peanut butter, and I felt sorry for you all.

Yes, jelly is the jiggly one here.

When I was younger I thought peanut butter and jelly sandwiches (ewwww) were made with actual jelly. I didn't understand how you could spread jelly on bread and I thought you were all crazy people.

Don't worry, we have good peanut butter!

Heh, I can see where that would seem odd! I actually hadn't had a pb&j sandwich until a few years ago; it's doable (like vegemite for me, haha), but not my favorite... Nutella all the way! Or cookie butter, mmm. (like peanut butter, not...butter butter)

America loves its peanuts. Or, tolerates, because they're nitrogen-binding and kids will eat them.

We have many kinds of peanut butter. Some are a bit too sweet.
