Re: Rant Thread: ACTUAL RANT

That happened to me a year ago in august, even though I'm a few years younger. I was traveling and skipped my period for a whole month.

Brain process: 1) Fuck, I hope I'm not pregnant. 2) Fuck , I hope it's not premature menopause then 3) Fuck, I hope it's not a side-effect of some horrible disease.

I think I'm fine now, though I have been considerably late once since. There's apparently the option I have PCOS but no conclusive diagnosis. Bleh.

Argh, I'm sorry this has happened to you too. It sucks. And now I'm cramping like a mofo.

Sorry to hear it, have some internet hugs! (If it's an atypical pain, do get it checked out if you can)

*hugs*

I am hardcore going through menopause symptoms right now; night after night of night sweats, hot flashes, my hair is falling out, everything. Except stopping my period. And I'm 35. So I'm going to see an endocrinologist next week. *sigh*

I hope you feel better soon.

(It's not totally unheard of to start perimenopause at 39, so maybe you are?)

Well, I rather hope I'm not actually, because I feel like I'm rather young for that and it does have side-effects to go into menopause early. And I'd hate having to acknowledge I'm no spring chicken anymore ;)

But yeah, my mom started at 39, so,it's not outside of the realm of possibility, though I do still have a few years to go in that case.

*hugs*

I hope it all works out for you.

I'm just tired of having to change my clothes in the middle of the night every night. Sleeping on a wet pillow sucks.

Also, I totally meant to comment to the OP of the thread, so hugs to OP too. I want everybody's uterus and hormones to be in tip top shape.

*hugs back*

That sucks.

I don't have anything like that - only time I had that was when I was a teenager and had anxiety. But, that's different.

Did they tell you what caused early menopause, or is it just random?

I don't actually know that it is. I started having menopause symptoms eleven years ago after my first child was born but they've recently super escalated. I'll go to the doc next week; it could be perimenopause, it could be my thyroid (although I had it checked in July and was fine), it could be a pituitary gland issue, or it could just be the same shrug and whatevs I've gotten every other time I've tried to go to the doc to figure out what's up with my hormones.

My hormones are weird anyway. I could be a bearded lady, it's just that through he wonders of modern medicine I do not have to be. But yeah, sometimes I think my body itself couldn't decide whether it wanted to be a girl or a boy. My periods were never truly regular, just that skipping over a month is rare.

Pre-menopause, with erratic periods and some but not all the symptoms of menopause, is also a thing. My mom started dealing with that around... um, a couple years after she had my sister, I think. I remember it was before she turned 40 because she was like "WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS SHIT?!" (One of the rare times my mom actually cussed, fwiw. I'm not looking forward to then, because as it is, I already have to be on hbc constantly to control my PCOS/PMDD, and I understand after a certain time they say "Sorry, won't script you anymore" >_<)
