Even from the first episode, Dougal always kind of had his eyes on her. OF course, for the most part, he respects the boundaries, but I think the whole sharing deal is because "you're family now! My wife is his wife, his is mine!" (which also made me go ??? you had mad chances and only NOW you want to actively pursue her? Next.)

I have to admit, I kind of see Dougal and Claire together over her and Jaime. As adorable and sweet as Jaime is, he reminds me of a child, and Claire (I assumed, incorrectly?) seemed older than him, which may be why I was curious about her and Dougal (although I don't think she likes him much in that manner).

Just my two cents. In the books she is definitely older than he is - it's a plot point - but due to better health care and easier living in the 30s/40s she doesn't look as old as someone her age would in the 1700s. Jaime is floored when he finds out how old she really is.
